This is a mandatory accreditation process for all medical practices offering diagnostic imaging services, and is required in order to maintain the practice’s eligibility to Medicare benefits.
Currently, measures are in place to ensure diagnostic imaging practices can still provide Medicare-funded services throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
There are currently two levels of DIAS accreditation. Full-suite accreditation requires meeting all 15 accreditation standards. New practices can apply for partial accreditation, where you have to meet entry-level accreditation standards. Over the next 2 years, the practice will have to meet all 15 accreditation standards and achieve full-suite accreditation.
Yes. All 15 accreditation standards have to be maintained through the years and renewed every 4 years.
